Josef Werner was born in Kraslice (Czech Republic) in graduated from High School in Prague, and in1968 immigrated to Germany. From 1970-75 hestudied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, under ProfessorK.F. Dahmen. He has since been working as apainter, print maker and sculptor. From 1979-86Werner owned a printmaking establishment in New currently resides and worksin Prien, Germany. Since 1973he had more than 130 one-man exhibitions and has won numerousawards for his prints. Werner’s artwork can be found in many publicand private collections.

Werner's focus has always been etchings. Inhis work you can find a symbiosis between reality and fantasy,which he clearly achieves, seemingly effortlessly, but at the sametime with a high degree of technical er's graphics take us into a world of poetry and ideas whichthrough its narrative expression conveys a humorous and oftencritical message. His works are never simplyillustrated reality. Always in search of harmonyand beauty behind the intellectual horizon, Werner's works createtheir own form of reality which is only subject to the laws ofart.

約瑟夫·沃納1945年出生於捷克克拉斯利採，在布拉格中學畢業，1968年移民到德國。1970年—1975年在慕尼黑美術學院學習，師從K.F. Dahmen教授。從那以後開始了他的藝術職業生涯，創作油畫，版畫，雕塑。1979年—1986年沃納在紐約擁有了自己的版畫工作室。目前他定居、工作在德國普里恩。自1973年，他舉辦過130餘次個人展覽，獲得過很多獎項。沃納的作品被許多公共和私人機構收藏。

沃納擅長於蝕刻版畫。在他的作品裏，你可以找到現實和幻想之間的結合點。他以精湛的技法輕鬆地表達出自己的想法。他的版畫作品具有詩歌般的感覺，通過敍事的表達方式轉達出幽默的和諷刺的信息。他的作品從來不簡單地刻畫現實，總是在和諧和美麗的背後呈現着他理智的見識。沃納的作品僅在藝術法則的規範下，以他自己的方式來展示現實。
